The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Iseyin campus, has approved a two-week suspension of activities following the death of a 200-level student who was run over by a yet-to-be-identified commercial driver on the Iseyin/Saki Road, Oyo State.
Investigations by The PUNCH revealed that the victim was a student of the Department of Agricultural Economics before the incident occurred on Friday morning.
It was further gathered that other students, who staged a protest, set the commercial vehicle ablaze after discovering that the driver had fled the scene.
Confirming the incident on Saturday, the Registrar of the institution, Olayinka Balogun, said the management had approved a two-week suspension of activities at the Iseyin campus following the student’s death.
