The former frontline aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Imo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Arc. Amaka Mgbobu-Onu, has joined other Imo indigenes at home and abroad in celebrating the appointment of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, as Secretary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Campaign Council.
Arc. Mgbobu-Onu, who represents Okigwe Zone on the Council of the Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), disclosed this in a telephone interview with journalists, where she expressed satisfaction with Governor Uzodimma’s performance in managing both the affairs of the state and the ruling APC.
According to the Ihitte Ihube-born politician, the governor has demonstrated exceptional commitment to strengthening the APC, not only in Imo State but across the South-East and at the national level.
“My governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has been working hard for the party to ensure its growth and success. This is not only at the national level but also in the South-East and here in Imo State. He has successfully combined the responsibilities of governance with party leadership, and this is highly commendable,” she said.
Arc. Mgbobu-Onu recalled Governor Uzodimma’s earlier appointment as a Renewed Hope Ambassador of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Campaign Council, noting that the role positioned him strategically to contribute to the mobilisation and consolidation of support for the APC.
She said the governor’s ability to build alliances, attract political stakeholders and strengthen the internal structures of the party had contributed significantly to the growing influence and membership of the APC.
She further described Governor Uzodimma as a political strategist who is capable of effectively managing both human and material resources, adding that his leadership qualities have continued to earn him the confidence of President Tinubu.
“His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, as a strategist, is always ahead of others. This is why the President relies on him for a whole lot of things. His strategic approach and ability to build alliances in the interest of the APC are remarkable,” she stated.
The former APC aspirant also congratulated Governor Uzodimma on his latest appointment as Secretary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Campaign Council, describing it as a recognition of his political experience, organisational capacity and commitment to the growth of the party.
She equally congratulated the governor on the recognition reportedly bestowed on him by the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), including the Order of the Pride of Africa and the Nelson Mandela Medal for A Long Walk to Freedom Award.
Arc. Mgbobu-Onu further noted that Governor Uzodimma had also been recognised by the Nigeria Peace Summit Group with its National Peace and Humanitarian Award.
She expressed confidence that the governor would bring his wealth of experience, political ingenuity and organisational skills to bear in his new assignment, while wishing him continued success in his service to the APC, Imo State and Nigeria.
