The ceremony attracted distinguished guests and top government officials, including the Senator representing Imo North Senatorial Zone, Distinguished Senator Patrick Ndubueze (FNSE).
Speaking at the event, Senator Ndubueze emphasized the critical role of community participation in enhancing security across the state. He commended the establishment of the Imo State Vigilante Service as a proactive step toward strengthening grassroots security and safeguarding lives and property.
The Senator also lauded the ongoing electricity substation projects in the state, noting that they would significantly improve power supply and support socio-economic development. He urged the vigilante members to work in close collaboration with conventional security agencies to ensure effective intelligence sharing and law-abiding operations.
Highlighting unity and youth empowerment as key drivers of sustainable development, Senator Ndubueze encouraged the newly inaugurated vigilante personnel to see their role as a service to the people and the state.
Commending Governor Hope Uzodimma for his commitment to security reforms, Senator Ndubueze stressed the importance of synergy between government-backed security agencies and local vigilante networks.
The event concluded with the swearing-in of the vigilante leaders, who pledged to uphold the rule of law while protecting lives and property across Imo State.
