NDUBUEZE ATTENDS OKIGWE LGA WARD COORDINATORS’ INAUGURATION…Attributes Achievements to Uzodimma’s Support.

The Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Patrick Chiwuba Ndubueze, has attributed his political success and the development projects attracted to Okigwe Zone to the support of Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Ndubueze made this known on Thursday, October 16, 2026, while attending the inauguration of Shared Prosperity Ward Coordinators in Okigwe Local Government Area, held at the council headquarters.

Addressing the newly inaugurated coordinators, party faithful and other stakeholders, the senator expressed profound appreciation to Governor Uzodimma for his support, which he said had contributed significantly to his emergence as a senator and the advancement of development projects in Okigwe Zone.

According to him, “I wouldn't have been in the Senate if not for Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.”

He further disclosed that the governor had recently handed over the Certificate of Occupancy for the Federal University of Okigwe to him, alongside the handover document transferring the Federal Medical Centre, Okigwe, from state to federal control.

The senator urged the people to continue appreciating the governor's contributions to the zone, stressing the importance of sustained cooperation between political leaders in delivering democratic dividends.

He also charged the newly inaugurated coordinators and residents of Okigwe LGA to remain committed to the Shared Prosperity administration and support all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the presidency to the State House of Assembly, in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, which formed part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization under Governor Uzodimma's 3R administration, attracted prominent political leaders and stakeholders from across Okigwe Zone.

Among the dignitaries present were the former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibe; Chief Charles Babatunde Ezekwem; Chief Dan Ogu, APC Zonal Chairman for Okigwe Zone; Hon. Frank Onwumere; and Hon. Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, member representing Okigwe State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, alongside other party leaders, women and youth stakeholders.

In their separate remarks, the leaders commended Governor Uzodimma for supporting Ndubueze's emergence as senator representing Imo North and providing the political backing necessary for effective representation at the National Assembly.

They also praised Senator Ndubueze for what they described as the remarkable attraction of federal projects to Okigwe Zone within a relatively short period in office.

Some of the projects highlighted included the Okigwe electricity project, reportedly valued at over N80 billion; the Federal University of Okigwe; various road projects; and other development initiatives associated with the senator's representation at the National Assembly.

The speakers noted that the establishment of the Federal University of Okigwe would enhance access to higher education and strengthen the area's position as an emerging educational centre.

Responding, Senator Ndubueze assured the people of Okigwe LGA and Imo North Senatorial District that the projects he had attracted would be completed within record time.

He attributed the progress recorded so far to the strong working relationship between himself and Governor Uzodimma, pledging to sustain and deepen the partnership for the overall benefit of the people.

The senator further urged residents to regard the Shared Prosperity Ward Coordinators as ambassadors of development and to cooperate with them in advancing grassroots engagement and mobilization.

He emphasized that unity, effective coordination and sustained support for the APC would be essential to securing the party's victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration is expected to strengthen the APC's grassroots structures in Okigwe LGA, with the newly inaugurated coordinators tasked with mobilizing support for the party and promoting the Shared Prosperity agenda ahead of the forthcoming elections.
