The 7th Assembly of Ideato South Local Government Legislative Council has passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Chief Okwara Okechukwu, the Executive Chairman of Ideato LGA and his Paradigm Shift Administration.
In a motion moved by Rt. Hon. Johnbosco Ikebundu (Umuakam of Umuago Ward) and seconded by Hon. Lady Nora Nnadi of Isiekenesi Ward 2, at the plenary sitting held on Tuesday, the 4th of November, 2025, after a comprehensive assessment of the administration’s performance in its first year in office, the 7th Assembly said that the LGA boss has discharged his functions as the Chairman of the Council.
However, in a statement signed by Hon. Onyenakazi Hyacinth Leader (Umuchima Ward), Hon. Cyprian Obiagwu Deputy Leader (Isiekenesi Ward 1), Rt. Hon. Johnbosco Ikebundu Majority Leader (Umuakam/Umuago Ward), Hon. Ebula Stanley Chief Whip (Ogboko Ward 2), Hon. Nora Nnadi Councillor (Isiekenesi Ward 2), Hon. Anumege Prince Councillor (Amanator/Umueshi Ward 2), Hon. Donatus Ebere Councillor (Dikenafai Ward), Hon. Chimezie Ibekwe Councillor (Ntueke Ward), Hon. John Eze Councillor (Ugbelle Ward), and Hon. Orioha Emeka Councillor (Obioha Ward) on Thursday, the 7th Assembly commended the Executive Chairman and his team for their notable achievements.
They mentioned the achievements to include the employment of 140 casual workers across the LGA, drilling of a solar-powered borehole at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU), rehabilitation and grading of over 20km of rural roads, installation of a solar power station at the Council Headquarters.
Others include the restoration of rural electricity in Dimagu Autonomous Community, construction of a two-bedroom bungalow for an indigent, disabled widow, and the completion of a late ward chairman’s house to facilitate his burial, among others.
The Council reaffirmed their unwavering support and partnership with the Executive Chairman and his administration in their continued efforts to transform the welfare of the people of Ideato South.
