The Traditional Ruler of Emekuku Ancient Kingdom in Owerri North Local Government Area, HRM Eze Obi Ejeshi (Ezeukwu IV of Emekuku Ancient Kingdom) has been conferred with a Special Recognition Award by the management of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC, Owerri.
The award was conferred on the monarch on the occasion of the 2nd edition of the IBC Golden Voice Award held last Friday, February 20, 2026 at the corporation Events Centre, along Akanchawa Road, New Owerri.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after receiving the award, Eze Ejeshi noted that the award was conferred on him in recognition of his outstanding contributions, unwavering dedication and exceptional impact on the society and expressed delight that the management of the corporation decided to honour him because of his positive impact on humanity and society at large. "I thank those who nominated me. I urge them to continue to encourage unity.
They were motivated to honour me because I distinguished myself in service to humanity and society, a philanthropist, a man whom the less privileged and downtrodden look upon to enhance their standards of living having assisted many communities in executing their projects. "I am impressed. I will continue with what I am doing. I have done a lot to assist the indigent and needy in communities. I have been deeply involved in community development." The monarch emphasized.
He thanked the IBC management staff for finding him worthy of the award, expressing delight on the honour done him.
According to Eze Ejeshi, "I will not relent, I will multiply my efforts, put in more energy to what I have been doing. I will continue to uphold humanitarianism. To whom much is given, much is expected. I assure this corporation that this award is going to spur me for more and harder work and services to God and humanity to make society a better place to live in."
Eze Ejeshi enjoined the IBC management and staff to be steadfast and committed to their objectives, wake up and realize what is needed in their service to their audience, continue to sustain peace and progress of the media outfit.
